The biggest thing with Citizen Kane was that it was a truly groundbreaking effort from the standpoint of cinematography, sound and camera angles. Loosely based on the newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst, it is also a morality tale of sorts, describing the rise of a ruthless tycoon and finally, what matters most to him at the end.
