  • Finally got the jellybean update for my phone, few questions.

AT&T finally released the jelly bean update for the One X, downloaded it last night. Been playing around with google now, don't really get it yet but.

Issue I am having is that there is now 2 little icons at the top that were not there before. A little battery with a leaf to the far left and white box with NN in it? Anyone with jellybean know what this is and how I get rid of it at least from the bar at the top.

Must be a device or carrier specific thing, I don't have either of those icons. I never use Google Now.

this is the problem, it wasnt just an android update, it was an htc sense update. its like 2 OS competing with each other and certain things are bound to have issues. i wish it was just pure android like the nexus phones have.

Anything good or real useful that comes with the update? I'm just going to wait until it gets pushed.

Damn you just got it? You were posting all of that shit about the one x getting it before the SG III.

I have had it for about a month. I did not get those weird icons.

not really that i can see. they changed the keyboard a bit and now its more confusing. google search with NOW seems to work a little better.

Fixed it, scrum i know you have the same phone so for future reference. The NN logo is the thing where 2 phones can touch and exchange data. Turn if off here:

The battery leaf icon can be turned off by turning power save off. Its stupid because you can just set your phone up manually to have the same settings as power save and not have to have an ugly little icon.

              No more icons!

Starting to like a few things that came with the update. Few new widgets that are cool. Yesterday google now popped up and told me there was traffic on my route. Also seems a bit faster in general. Scrum, go into the att software update section and download it. I don't think it will happen automatically, the update has been out for like 2 weeks.

I feel like the battery life has improved also. See if you notice the same thing.

                      Ok did the update.

The vibrate during typing seems to be turned off now. I kinda liked the tactile feeling of the vibration, made it feel a bit like a real keyboard. Maybe that's part of the power save option.

BTW, when you say that Google Now pops up and tells you about traffic, that's just Google doing it? Do I need to turn on one of those cards in Google Search to enable this?

Also, keyboard layout is changed a bit. The numeric key is moved over to the left side. Faked me out a few times as I kept going to the bottom right where it used to be.

You can turn that back on under language and keyboard.

Google now has to be turned on for it to give you the info.

What do I need to do to turn on Google Now?

By the way, do you see a slight lag to launch apps from the home screen? The browser is lightning fast, bit it seems like apps take a fraction longer to load.

click inside the little google search bar. should pull up a screen with your local weather and other cards. if it doesnt there is a little setting thing in that window to turn on.

no lag, its pretty much instant. maybe restart phone.

I also like how you can swipe through the home pages in one direction and it gets back to the first screen instead of having to turn around and swipe the other way.
