  • Gun Games - Finally doing it!

I'm picking up my first shotgun this weekend. Mossburg 500. I'm going to hopefully pick up another toy by the end of the year but I need your guy's help.

I really REALLY want to get a 9mm but I'm torn. I have been looking at S&W SD9's and I like the way they shoot. But the issue is this, I've only ever shot S&W... I don't know if you guys recommend that I try another kind.

I wouldn't mind having a gun. I just don't feel like going through all the paper work and licensing and all that shit. I'd be more likely to buy one on the black market if im honest.

How much for the shotgun mofo?

What about bullets and all that shit. Do you need to be a registered gun owner to buy that stuff.

The shotgun doesn't require being registered in MD. It's cash and carry. I'm buying it from a friend of mine for dirt cheap, ~$100. I used it when I went to the shooting range.

With the handgun, at least in MD, you have to take an online class to get your certificate on gun safety and then when you go to purchase it, they do a background check and everything for your first time. I would be buying my handgun from an authorized dealer so that I can get everything done at once.

As for ammo, I have some 12g shells already. I don't plan on buying more unless I'm going to the range.

Remington 870 over the Mossberg, no question.

Go to a range that rents and try as many as they have before you buy.

Yeah. As rocket said, I am not going to pass this deal over. I was looking at the Remingtons as well but when this offer came to the table, I jumped on it.

As for the 9mm. I am really likening the s&w. A lot. But I am definitely going to try my hand at a lot more before I make any decisions.

On the pistols..take the advice given and go to some ranges that have rentals and try out as many as you can...If your comfortable shooting the make model you have...then go for it!! enjoy!!!

What do you want a gun for? A hobby or just to have for protection?

Sporting. One time behind a gun and I can't imagine not doing it ever again.
