Got DQ'd in the qtr finals for reaping the knee. If you don't know what it is, google it. It's actually a quite dangerous position for your opponent to be in and I honestly did not do it purposely; just heat in the moment...Lesson learned.
Had some good rolls, met some of the best of the world. My team Alliance? Well they speak for themselves. We killed it overall.
My reaping of the knee(and I'm quite aware of it and how dangerous it puts your opponent in it), was certainly devastating for me. I was doing great up until then. We were 3mns into the match and basically playing dominance for foot work and I fucked up, plain and simple.
Reaping of someones knee is no joking matter. Those judges jump in like the UFC judges jump in because if your opponent moves or decides to fight against it, boom..There goes their knee.
Looking forward to some other comps in Chicago and here in Ohio.
We had a total of 17 people in my bracket which seemed little, but pissed at myself for thinking ahead when BJJ is like chess; think before you move.
Oh well. Had an amazing time while I won a few matches(baseball choke and 5-2 decision).
I will take this as a learning lesson and move on. Well worth the money spent and all the training. I will continue to train:)
