Pretty much. But here's the thing and not saying my opponent set me up for it, because it's possible. I take full responsibility for it.Originally posted by Mr incredible View PostI see, do really if your going for foot lock you must keep your foot pushed into your opponents hips
But take the twister for example, it's legal and if someone doesn't tap, you would literally snap their spine. Or cranking the neck, once again you could SNAP the neck. Oh well....lesson learned and you move. I have next year and by then I'll probably be a brown belt which would be more exciting:)

There are three major comps you want to win or medal in. The worlds, which I did amazing in the senior division, took gold and silver. The Pan Ams and the Europeans which I'm not sure I'll ever do. ADCC is nice and all, but it's really NOT BJJ...more grappling. But still a great accomplishment to have on your resume.
I've pretty much have tapped myself out(no pun)on comps around here, Michigan and other areas. I'm now only going to do the Chicago, Boston, Miami and NY and one or two grapplers quest.
I will be back next year to the pan ams and medal, that's for sure. BJJ is about learning win or lose. Those that don't practice it will never understand a loss is actually you learning. If you never lose, you never learn. It was fun though. Seeing Galvao and Bucheca in the absolute finals, the Mendes brothers, Lucas Lepri, etc....I was surrounded by legends in that stadium.

Funny thing is this that you could be going for a foot lock or toe hold, your opponent rolls and rolls and rolls and somehow your foot ends up in a "reaping" position...You're DQ'd :mad...What I love about this sport, is you can play either way; a set up for the other guy to fuck up, or just finish him.Originally posted by Mr incredible View PostI see, do really if your going for foot lock you must keep your foot pushed into your opponents hips

Bro you have no idea and never will. When you step on that mat for the first time as a newbie and learn how you can manipulate(in due time)anyone regardless of size or strength; bro, that to me is a fucking emotion like no other...Hence why they have the absolute divisions; basically david vs. goliath.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postyou sure do love that shit. respect for the dedication. :)
IMO there's nothing more gratifying than having some egotistical asshole(like I use to be)come train with you, and hand them their ass over and over. Man I love that shit.
Ego and pride will destroy you in this sport.
