  • Ugh..

Two topics that totally made me think of Mr Incredible, so we don't need to rehash any theories. However, they both made me sad in different ways.

On Friday, miles from my house, a sales manager was driving a customers car for a service check, and somehow got into a scuttle with a man on the road. They haven't really released any details, because they weren't sure wth happened. But in the end, the guy sort of bumped the salesman, so he pulled over and got out. The man shot him dead, and stood and waited for the cops. I would have loved to hear what story he told the police?!

Some days it's hard to accept the society we live in. :(

    Fast forward to yesterday.

My son and his friend were out playing in my parents neighborhood. My mom and dad and their next door neighbors sit outside with their dogs EVERY night. The little boy went running by the neighbors dog, and reached down to pet him, and the dog attacked him. He sort of came up from behind him, and I guess it spooked him. The little boy has some stitches in his elbow and a bad bite on his chest. The dog is being put to sleep today. I feel really bad for my parents friends, because in the end they are losing a family member as well as dealing with the guilt of their dog hurting their next door neighbor.

Does the dog have to be put to sleep? What if the kids parents said they didn't want that to happen? Was the dog on its own property and the kid came onto that property?

I could understand if the dog jumped the fence and attacked the kid. But if the kid came into the dogs area and spooked the dog I feel like thats BS the dog has to be put to sleep.

Unless a dog is provoked or somehow driven by a child to 'justifiably' attack, it does not deserve to live, imo. If it did it once, it will do it again. As much as I whole heartedly love my dog, if he ever attacked my daughter I would put him down myself.

That's crazy. People have been on edge so much lately. And they seem to use any chance they get to appear superior to the next.

I don't know if the dog HAS to, but it's time, and his owners knew it. He is getting old, grumpy, and has already attacked another neighbor dog. He is very unpredictable, and it's just not safe anymore. The guy immediately took him to an animal hospital, because he knew it was the end of the road for him and I guess he just couldn't bare to "hang out" with him until today. The wife was at work, and she didn't want to have to say goodbye, either.

He's snapped and growled at me before, but biting a child is just not acceptable.

Also once there is a "record" of the dog being vicious.. the owners could really have the shit sued out of them if anything else ever happened with it..Not worth it.

Absolutely. You pretty much just have to agree to put the dog down.....or else. If they make a stink, your insurance will drop you and everything.

what a dumb reason to go to jail for the rest of your life. wow not worth it...shit got carried away and hes going to regret that for a long time.

that's a tough situation with the dog. its instinct for the dog he cant help it when being scared. I'm curious was the dog familiar or ok with kids before the incident?

He was familiar with them, but too unpredictable around them. He hasn't ever bit one, but there is one little girl that he goes nuts over when she rides by on her bicycle. :x He was far better off with my 5 lb Chihuahua than with a neighborhood child.

Sounds like a poorly/improperly socialized dog that ultimately paid the price for an irresponsible owner.

No, it wasn't that either. They think he was starting to lose his vision, so maybe things appeared different to him, etc. He was social, but he also was a rescue. So honestly, they gave him a good life, one he may have never had to begin with, and now it's his time to go.
