  • Battery life on Laptops

Well I've been using the iPads more often, although I still find my laptops to be more of a convenience factor for so many things other than being heavier/bulkier.

Well low and behold the past few weeks I've been getting this "Plugged in but not charging" on them....Did a Google and found a few tricks but at the end of the day, seems I need new batteries:disagree: They will charge sometimes, sounds weird I know.

I took the batteries out and just using the laptops with just the charger. But looks so ghetto:panic:

Was that just a statement or is there a question to go along with this rant? :)

I dont know what the hell it is with laptops but every one I have ever owned including the one I am typing on right now has given me that "plugged in but not charging" thing even when the battery is low and needs to be charged. HP, Dell, Lenovo, doesnt matter, every single one of them. :retard:

Im not taking old laptops that need a new battery either, I mean months old ones.

Just buy the cheapest replacement you can find on Amazon with good reviews.

They will last as long as the factory ones at a tenth the cost.

          EXACTLY BRO!!!!

Pretty much what I've come up with on the search; it's the battery cells that die...Imagine that. They say if they last 6 months, that's a long time. And what is weird, is that sometimes it does charge and holds it...So like right now, I have no battery in it, just the wall plug.

This pic is from my laptop that is only 10 months old!!!!!

I hate buying shit I can't feel or touch bro. But I know if I visit bestbuy or hhgregg, I will spend more. Like I said, I would not even use a battery knowing NOW I can use it without, but looks ghetto.

                yea so.

Apple is great when it comes to power consumption at it's minimal unlike everyone else. but they also suck in other areas. I like my iPads but nothing like having a laptop that's NOT a mac; except this fucking battery issue. :argue:

Note I've had mine for a long ass time. I guarantee I do more on my laptop than you even know how. Sure I can't play WoW but that's pretty much it.

                    No you don't....FACT.

I pretty much beat my laptops and phones into the ground how much I use them. Know how? hmmm....The app software I use is something you'll never understand, it's called grown up shit:thumup:

I just looked it up because that's really good and hard to believe. Apple claims 1000 cycles or 5 yrs is typical.

                          I hope it's true! I have a Mac, but it's only a year.

My Dell is 6 yrs old never had the charging message aforementioned nor have I had any other issues. I'd consider it's use to be heavy. I expected 3 yrs out of it so I can't complain.

just make sure every once in a while you're running it down to 4%. This helps make sure the battery drains on a proper schedule or something. the genius bar people told me so.
