I have several South Koreans working in my group at work. They are pretty much unanimous in their assessment that all this is theater by the new guy to come out of daddy's shadow and establish himself as a tough guy in the eyes of their generals and their public. Of course tje problem is that he has painted himself into a corner now and can't back down without looking like he is all talk. So they think that he will create some small encounter somewhere, maybe attack a warship with some limited casialties, declare victory and save face.

And this guy may be crazy but he isn't stupid. He knows that if he pulls any nuclear stunt, there's NO way he will stay in power. We will go in and kick his ass and get rid of him one way or another. So, I think he'll do some kinda cross border skirmish, maybe lob a few mortars over the DMZ or whatever, perhaps kill or injure a few S. Korean troops as a result, declare victory and move on.

I highly doubt that. US backs S Korea, and if this idiot drops a few bombs cross the border US will get involve and cause some damage to him. There is no way in hell he is going to declare a victory any time soon.
