New Uk law going through parliament about dogs

So basically it gives powers for police to press ' criminal' charge against dog owners whose dogs attack people on private land too.

I think this will make dog owners more responsible and.careful and is a good thing

Its going mad on dogs here at the moment. Someone complained about my 'pit bull' and I was served a warrant and the dog was seized 2 days ago to be assessed.
The joke was that 4 police cars (including armed response unit) came for 1dog!
He isn't a pit he is a x, but the law extends to pit bull types.
I agree that owners should be held accountable for their dogs and that dogs (mastiffs etc) are being used more and more as weapons.

I'd say lab too. He is a Weimaraner/Doberman x Staff. He has never bitten anyone, neighbours just don't like dogs and complain anonymously 2 or 3 times a year - barking etc, the accusation that I breed and keep pit bulls is a new one.

Trouble is there have been a number of dog attacks of late, most recent a 14 year old girl mauled to death, so the police are clamping down hard as they have to been seen to be doing something.

Pathetic. There will always be dog bites/attacks - pit bulls or no pit bulls. Surely they can find something better to do than haul your dog off for no actual reason.

probably happen less now, but if your dog bites and injures, you pay, so probaby less people buy dangerous dogs lol
