  • I love Australia's prime minister

    I know she's probably quite anti UK queen and thats fine, the way she speaks totally echoes my thoughts;

Australia says NO - Second time she has done this!
    AMAZING !!!!

Australian Prime Minister does it again!! This woman should be appointed Queen of the World.. Truer words have never been spoken.

    Prime Minister Julia Gillard- Australia:

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..

Separately, Gillard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying she supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:

'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT.. Take It Or Leave It.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society .... Learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.' 'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

To my mind there's nothing wrong with a country saying that they have a culture, created over time through struggles etc and that if other cultures want to come they are welcome but that the should assimilate into the culture of the country they are moving to and not try and force their own culture on the one they are moving to.

She never said it. This whole thing is a combination of stuff a couple of other people have said that has been incorrectly attributed to Gillard.

Its a compilation of stuff ' she said', we get alot of it in the news over here. there are some people of putting garbage out on the net saying she didn't say it (probably extreemists) and that's what you have jumped on.

Australia have always been forthright in their views like this as was the previous P M, I didn't see anything wrong with what's said, it shouldn't be offensive if your someone looking to live in australia you should want to assimilate.

in 2001 I was in brisbane, I bunch of afgan asylum seekers hijacked a commercial ship off indonesia, they headed for Oz, radio'd the coast guard.

the Oz prime minister at the time then scrambled two naval desyroyers off Darwin who after a couple of exchanges the hijackers were told in no uncertain terms that if they came.any closer they would be blown out of the water!

              guess what? They stopped.

International condemnation ensued of australia, but the PM held firm, even tually paying papua new ginea to take them, where they then rioted.

              Love the character of australia

Apparently none of it was actually stated by Gillard.

Immigration is out of control but not a new problem.

That is why I posted the snopes link. I thought it was bad ass that she said those things but after you said you never heard about it, I looked it up and that is because she never did. Its s made up of bits and pieces that Australians have said. Not the PM.

Snopes is a fairly good way to verify the veracity of internet rumor, or the countless friends on Facebook that post shit willy nilly. Regardless of who said it, I agree with the concept entirely. Someone damn well should say it.
