  • Read in the Sunday paper that the average woman....

    Weighed 142lbs in 1990.

    Weighs 160lbs today.

Damn... that's just in the last 20 years. And 142lbs is nothing to be proud of. Not sure where this is going to end.... Wall-E doesn't look too far fetched.. :(

That's IMO big for a woman unless you're over six feet tall...I've never dated anyone who's over 135lbs and my ex wife was 5'9" and current GF is 5'5", call me shallow I don't give a shit:D

Has to do with easy calories IMO. Not necessarily lack of activity. There are a few overweight men and women at my gym that I see every single time I am there. These people are on the treadmill or elliptical from the time I walk in the door till the time I leave. These aren't lazy fatties either, these people are sweating up a storm really working hard. Despite all this, they still look like they did 6 months ago. I can't imagine what these people must eat when they are not at the gym. I don't understand the mindset. "I worked really hard in the gym today so I am entitled to eat like a fucken pig!" :disagree:

That is called license to eat. They do all that work so they can eat what they want. Imagine if they didn't train how much fatter they can be.

This also explains why overweight women always use the "Marilyn Monroe was a size 8, so we don't feel bad." Women's sizing has drastically changed over the years. Not that comparing a pant size is worth anything anyway. ALL brands size differently.

*The average American lady in the 1960’s was 5’4 inches tall and 120 lbs, with a waist size of 24-25 inches and a BMI of 20.59. She wore what was referred to then as a size 8, which in today’s sizing is more like a size 4.

*The average American lady today is 5’4 inches tall and 166 lbs, with a waist size of 37.5 inches and a BMI of 28.49, and around a size 10-14 clothing size.

Average woman's waist size is 37.5? That's crazy to me. I'm going back to the 60's!
