  • How do you handle stress or life issues?

How do you deal with it?

I go roll and lift, but mostly rolling helps me deal with my personal, life or inner issues. Something about being on the mat and having this critical thinking just puts me into this trance. I know sounds stupid, but it does.

Being in Mass certainly takes a toll on me and my family. As it is, I stress ED regardless if I'm home or not, my business or whatever. I take after my Dad and unfortunately it literally killed him; stress 13yrs ago on May 2nd.

I know some of you like to hunt, smoke(weed or cigs), party, buy expensive shit(like mohawk billy). But at the end of the day, what helps you take your mind off things. Do you take prescription drugs to help the stress like Valium, Xanax, etc...I know we're all different, but wanted to see what you do to feel better. :)

Dealing with daily stresses is one thing but dealing with deeper issues is another, talking with close freinds is good and I had cognitive behavioural therapy once which I thought was great

      :clapback: Well said bro...Well said.

And you are right; 2 totally different things. I guess for me is dealing with stress that can lead into deeper issues. I struggle not seeing my family, but I also struggle with not being good with my business. At times I feel like I don't know what to pick. If you pick your family over your career or business, how do you provide? Or if it's the opposite, then you have no family:retard:

I know what it takes being away from home. Fuck been doing that for ten plus years. I simply posted this because we all deal with issues in our lives, just how does everyone handle them? Do I miss my fam? Fuck yea, they are my everything. But with that said; my career, business, etc...Comes first too. All about balance which is why I love BJJ. Teaches you balance and how to control anger, ego, arrogance and even life issues.

Focus on things I can control and try to limit my worries on things I cannot.

The gym and everything that goes along with that is a therapy for me. Not sure where I would be without it.

Music is another tool I use to kind of "escape" sometimes when my mind is running.

Last but not least.. alcohol. Sometimes you just need a drink. :drunk:

Not being a dick but it sounds like your career comes before your family. I would rather live a more simple life and have less material belongings if that meant being able to see my wife and kids every day. Your family and career can't both come first.

Ding, ding ding! Chadd hit the nail on the head.

Rado, your biggest problem is lack of time. You have a difficult family situation, being a single parent, not to mention that you travel a lot for a living. You need to figure out ways to simplify your life, not make it more complicated. Instead, to add to an already screwed up schedule, you have added your BJJ hobby which, from the sounds of it, takes huge chunks of your day. So you've got 3 legitimate activities clamoring for #1 spot in your schedule and you simply don't have room for all 3, at least at the level that you are going at them.

If I were you, I would think long and hard at your work schedule and whether you really need to be doing this much travel and working from out of town like you have been doing. And 2+ hours of rolling a day are not helping matters. I know you like to do it, but people who spend this much time on it, who want to make a career out of it, aren't running around managing a business like you. You've got to simplify your life bro, not make it more complicated. And your life is too damn complicated right now.

Duly noted on the dick part. I live a simple life and I do balance my life quite well considering my schedule. But I find time for my family, maybe not as much as most of you do though.
