  • Welcome to Summer!

My air conditioner decided that yesterday was a good time to stop working. :hang: At least it's only 86 IN the house, while I sit here all damn afternoon waiting on a guy to come look at it.

Happy Saturday to everyone else.

Living in the Pacific Northwest were it rarely gets very hot, we've opted to not install air-conditioning. Right now, this feels like a mistake.

Yesterday, it was 95, today 97 and it is supposed to be 98 tomorrow. At least it cools down at night. All the windows are open now to let in the night air. Before it gets above 70 tomorrow I'll close everything up tight to trap the cooler air. It got up to 81 degrees in the house this evening.

I didn't have air conditioning in our last house. Since I live in a modern high rise condo now, we have central air. You really don't need air conditioning if you live west of the Cascades in the PNW. Maybe 2 weeks of the year, it gets hot enough to wish you had it.

Looks like we have a few of us here. Cascadia represent!

It cooled down nicely overnight. As soon as the outside temp passes the inside temp, I'll close everything up. You are right this doesn't happen often or usually last long around here. Our home has high vaulted ceilings and there are a lot of trees around too which helps with the heat.
