I'm sure everyone has heard about Verizon cooperating with the govt in allowing the collection of metadata of customer communications but this article tells the reality of how deep it truly goes with the use of software called PRISM. Even going as far as looking at users of Drop box, Skype, etc.

It is ridiculous. We as a Nation have proven that we are OK with losing freedom and liberties every day. We are being conditioned to forgot about our rights.

The 1st, 2nd, and 4th amendments are barely hanging on. The patriot act was anything but patriotic.

However, I am a realist and have never once thought that my phone calls, emails, Internet activity, or cloud content were truly private. It is utter bullshit, but it is the world we live in. Funny that the price of freedom is giving up freedoms.

The world has gotten smaller and the expectation of privacy with it. You have phones that have more computing power then the government had at its disposal 30 years ago, public mapping sites to stare at your neighbors house, fucktards walking around with "google glasses" recording everything they see, 100 cameras per square block, and Satellites that can read magazine print. Technology simply outran the constitution, and politicians and law makers capitalized on the massive gray area, public fear, and ignorance. I think the worm is turning although it will never be as it should...if you look at the stories that are making waves, it will force some action in terms of regulation. But understanding that has never stopped the government is important lol. As the world gets smaller, the government takes more editorial license to "protect". Its a double edge sword really in my minds eye...but I agree that simply understanding that unless you take steps to curtail your signature you are being monitored goes along way to not freaking the fuck out when you read about it:)

I cannot imagine why anyone would be interested in what I do and where I go on my Smart phone or on the computer for that matter. I am nobody special. My retirement income is sufficient, but fairly modest. I am neither a terrorist nor a pedophile. Verizon is my cell service provider. Comcast is my internet provider.

If the government wants to waste there time looking at me, I say, have at it. What a waste of our tax dollars.
