  • Anyone else impressed with the new Mazda 6?

I own a 2004 Mazda 6 Sport Wagon. It has been an excellent car. Very light on maintenance,(unlike the Jetta I had before or the Peugeot before that). I looks a bit like a grandpa car, which fits since I am a grandpa. It has a 3.5 6 cylinder engine. It doesn't drive like grandpa's car.

The new Mazda 6 looks pretty spiffy. I worry though that it is just a jazzy looking Camry....which really is a grandpa car.

I've always liked Mazdas. Not sure what people like with VWs... every one I know has been a POS. Total maintenance hog with piss poor quality. German engineering, bah.

Ahhh I see you fell for the usual VW is no good rumour.

I've had a 2000 audi A6, 2003 A6, 2006 A4 and now I have 2012 VW CC which basically an A4 with a VW badge and I loved every single one of them. I traded them at 100k miles with zero problems.

One thing about vw and the audis more you drive them more they'll impress you which is kind of opposite of most cars.

I've had many cars that I couldn't wait to get rid of them after six months because they suck. They feel great during that short test drive but once you start living with it it's the opposite.

For example my 2011 Mercedes ml 350 is the world's biggest pos.

Rumor? We have had at least 4 VWs in the family. Every one has been crap. In this case, VW's reputation for poor reliability is well deserved.

I like VW but I would have to agree with scrum based on my experience with them. When I met sana she had just bought a new Jetta. Almost from day 1 it had electrical issues, they never seemed to go away for the entire time she had the car. One problem would disappear and a new problem would pop up.

That said, she loved that car and still compares every car she drives to it. lol. It was definitely a solid little car, drove very smooth and got up to speed effortlessly for a car with such low HP. I remember driving it on the Jersey TP well over 100mph and it was silent.

The last good VW car that I have dealt with is the diesel Rabbit. My roommate had one in college. Damn thing was near indestructible lol...

If you think your ten year old VW was same as today's VW, you are dead wrong. Also if you think VWs are problematic you should not get an audi because every audi is a VW. VW \ Audi shares the same 2.0 turbo engine in almost every model. Even the buttons on the dash is identically laid out.

Why? So I can know what cars you all drive

yeah, the audi is basically a $40k Jetta

Our 2007 Passat was plagued with issues and so is our 2011 CC Passat; electrical and transmission. Matter of fact getting ready to take the CC back in for what appears to be another transmission issue. Drives great but I hate that fucking car. I will never own another VW. My wife was crazy about them and is now convinced otherwise (finally).
