He took him down once. After that he couldn't even take him down when Silva put his hands down and let him tie him up. Totally outclassed.

he didnt give a full blown try IMO either he got sucked into Silvas game.

remember these are just my opinions there is no right or wrong.

you guys like silva I do not. I think he is by far the baddest man on the planet but still do not like the BS he does in the cage. I am not a martial artist but I belive in the respect the martial artist guys have and show.

I was on radio show yesterday and they brough up my 54 sec KO and how nasty it was I dont even like to talk about it or say the guys name I think it dont need to be said in public like that. now between us I will talk smack all day,lol
also on the radio show i said in front of everyone silva will loose but no way did i think he would loose like that

silva is a show boat and his own head is bigger than bouncers.

yes he was toying with him trying to suck him into his game and it worked but it also didnt at the same time.

If silva would of landed a few hard punches and weidmen was still standing you can bet your ass silva was gonna get dumped on his back.

bottom line he got KO and we will never know if weidmen could of subed him or Gand P him. IMO he could of did either but glass jaw silva didnt get that far,lol

I would love to see a pissed off Silva fight Weidmen again asap but i think he is way past that hes to good and unmotivated he will need the big fight IMO Jones is the big fight. I tink jones will beat him easy alsovia G and P. I would love to see them stand and bang wow that would be insane but Joines anit stupid

I love it. I can only imagine the what the ufc is thinking right now. Weidman won't be at the top long and their prized fighter and cash cow lost due being a douche.

I don't know wth Silva was rambling about post fight. Saying he doesn't want a rematch. He's not going to be fighting for the belt anymore. He's provided for his family. It's someone else's turn at the legacy. But he's not retiring because he has 10 fights left.

I bet Dana will convince him to fight a rematch.

Of course. There will be no other choice.

This loss effected the UFC big. Silva was the draw for "super fights" with GSP and Jones. His marketability just dropped a few notche$.

I don't put to much stock in Weidman's ground and pound or his stand up. I watched Chael Sonnen beat the shit out of Silva for 4 1/2 rounds and he looked decidedly better than Weidman did on the ground. I am not a huge Silva fan, the guy actually annoys me. However, up until this point, he had not lost since 2004, never lost in the UFC, and had 11 title defenses, and had never been finished with strikes in 38 fights. Its hard to find a better resume on the planet. Conversely, Weidman is......ummmmm 10-0 against exactly 3 (counting Silva) top 15 opponents--and only 6 fights in the UFC. Simply put the guy hasn't done shit in his career up until this point. If you look at his record of who he has fought, its pretty clear he has been groomed from the start. There are guys breaking into the UFC and fighting top ten opponents out of the gate...he wasn't one of them..he fought journeymen for the most part. Not taking away from his accomplishment at all, its what I love about MMA, 4 oz gloves are game changers at any point in the fight. You see it time and time again. Kudos to him for taking it to a showboating fool.

My personal opinion is that Silva took the fight lightly-because he has wrecked that division, got caught and really doesn't give a shit. He's got nothing to prove at this point. Weidman on the other hand has alot to prove. It reminds me alot of when Liddell lost the light heavyweight belt and you had revolving champs for a couple of years until Jones showed up and put the house in order. Wouldn't surprise me if Weidman was a one hit wonder.....

I dont feel SILVA's heart was in this fight. I think he's lost that fire to be the champ. He played around this time and got caught.

Sonnen has better takedowns for sure and he controls his opp very well. but sonnen G and P is weak as he is controling his guy more than trying to finish. Sonnen is also very submission prone he always has been always will be seen it tomany times.

Weidmen take downs not as good true but his G and P is alot more hard and his abilty to submit you is night and day above sonnen. Weidmen will not get caught in any sub Silva throws up that I am sure of.

Weidmen was the perfect person to beat silva he wont get subed and he can pound out silva or even sub him. he did not play it safe like sonnen he went straight for the finnish so dont compare the twos ground sonnen never went to finnish hes a grinder

Weidmen can be beat by lots of guys in that division but he was perfect to beat silva.
although he did get drawn into silvas game and got lucky he landed that punch or he was gonna loose.

That didn't take long. Now we get to see Rocket eat his words, lol.

"One week after Chris Weidman shocked the world with his second-round knockout of Anderson Silva at UFC 162, what may be the biggest rematch in MMA history has been announced. Saturday on ESPN SportsCenter, UFC President Dana White made it official: on December 28, Weidman and Silva will meet again for the UFC middleweight title in the main event of UFC 168 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada."

knew that was comming. it is in his contract if he looses he get automatic rematch. I also belive he deserves it he has not lost in 7 years lol thats nutz.

if weidman trys to punch Silva again he will loose. If he takes Silva down he will win.

he was baited into a stand up last fight and we all agree got lucky I hope that dont build his confedence and try and bang with him again, lol or it will be short night for weidmen
