Did a full tune up on duck boat a few days ago getting her ready for the up coming season. Decided to give her a shake out run yesterday...That didn't go so well. After a mile down the river I winched over the dyke into the impoundment. Cranked up went a few hundred yds then she dies... WTF?? look at inline fuel filter..cloudy mess.. HUMM pull fuel lines clear junk ect cranks up...few hundred yds dead again..same shit.

To make a long story short, what should have been ten min back to the ramp turned into about an hour.:noo:

After an hours ride pulling boat back home , back boat into the shop and get to work. Dumped fuel out of tank into a bucket and let it settle. Aprox 5 gals of fuel and about a quart of fuel water separation in the bottom..fucking ethanol water separation. I hate that shit!!.

I only get the so called "marine grade fuel" so now Im saying the gas stations are full of shit! Like 75 cents a gallon more for ethanol free fuel and still get that crap anyway.

Flushed the tank, fuel lines..replaced the brand new filters I just replaced again..and topped off with fresh fuel. try it again this am... what a PIA. At least it was a good sunrise...

I figured it was the ethanol after reading the first few sentences. Glad you got it fixed.

Ethanol is killing a lot of motorized lawn equipment. Thank the big US government for shoving that shit down our throats. They needed something else to do with the huge corn surplus that US farms produce.
