Calling out to my fellow athletes, BBrs, and fitness Gurus!

    I need your help!

I havent committed a full week or routine at the gym our outside of the gym in the last 5 months. I have gotten desperate and pulled out my P90x to see if I could get some motivation out of the "Amazing" Tony Horton. Honestly, I am using it as a tool to try to get back into shape. Id have to since in the last 5 months I have gone from about 8-10% bf to around 12-14% bf. I have never felt so shitty about my appearance.

I haven't lifted or trained since april which were a big part of my life. After I stopped due to financial and time issues ( I was really focused on my current job) everything kind of turned to shit! My diet, my training and my MOTIVATION!!!

Just started to listen to Mastery by Robert Greene in an attempt to try and regain my imagination, motivation and determination to KEEP IT GOING. I am the worst, I yo-yo. but not a good yo-yo. I tend to get in my best shape during winter and turned to a lazy shite during the summer.

I am really trying to get back into it with the P90x just cause it's free. I cancelled MMA training and froze my gym membership to try n save money and I have not been the same since. I look in the mirror and say "what the fuck happened!?"

So I call out to all you fitness freaks in hope to find an answer to my motivational issues. I know it's me. Caught in a sort of cycle of depression. Look in the mirror and figure "i look like shit" or "whats the point". Try to do something about it by going on a run or trying to exercise and find myself to be weak and slothy.

Not lookin for pitty here. Just lookin for some advice for an athlete that has lost their way. I feel that if I could only get back into training MMA my life would be whole again, but as of right now that is not an option, unfortunately.

So again I ask the Vets and news to share stories of their struggles and success. Maybe some motivational techniques that have worked for you. But this NEEDS to stop now. I want to be happy with myself again I just need a little advice and a little push.

Any advice, pointers, books, speeches, lectures or anything you think that could possibly get me out of the work funk Ive been in my life would be greatly appreciated.

SHIT! I WAS IN BETTER SHAPE WHEN I WAS IN JAIL!!!! HAHAH

    Anyways.

    Thanks in advanced brothers.

ps. Be honest. Be harsh. Maybe that will help ahah

    IM OUT :ninja:

Just like you I have zero motivation to train so get on some drugs and find a training partner who is super motivated.

That should fix the problem. Because it did mine. :D

        Welcome back.

I'm sure you know that you really can't get much motivation from other people. It has to come from you. You have to just suck it up, and dive in. Usually once you get going again, it will become easier. It's just that initial phase you have to get through. And sometimes, you have to sacrifice something else. If MMA is really your true passion, then why would you ignore it? Give up the beer you drink on the weekend, the pot you probably still smoke, or something else frivolous so that you CAN get back to MMA doing something you love and something good for your health/body/mind.

Its all about focus and a GOAl you really want to meet. Stop the distractions that pull you away...work is work and will always trump.... cause the bills gotta be paid...but what you do after is what counts..

That is what my plan has been. Tried to get my wife into it many times but she can't seem to commit to the idea of a training routine. She was lucky to have been blessed with a nice petite body and loads of self confidence.

Just need me some Test and my playlist. That's my training partner.

Thank you and you're right. It seems that mma was the only keeping me motivated and the weed certainly wasn't helping either. I don't drink much but I am guilty of Smoking which is something I do want to give up.

What I do after work is try to do as little bodily functions as possible. If there were a way that I could eat without having to move I probably would. Seriously though ive turned into a lazy slob these last 6 months or so.

I know what to do I just have to get up and do it. Thanks for the advices guys. See you in a few months!:ninja:

jk, Ill be floating around. checking in on Bouncer every so often to see him slowly self destruct into a miserable blob of fat while he is "bullking" this winter:laugh:
