Google "accidentally" posted the phone in the play store yesterday. Looks like $349 for the 16gig model.

As if the cacophony of leaks around the Nexus 5 weren't enough, here's the most official yet: Google's latest flagship phone has appeared on the Play store. The listing appears to have been made in error, as the phone cannot be bought and no details are available but the most important — a starting price of $349 for the 16GB version. While that's a higher barrier to entry than we saw with the Nexus 4, which also cost $349 at 16GB but had a $299 8GB model, it's still an attractively low price for what appears to be a more than capable device. Google's tagline for the LG-made phone is "Capture the everyday and the epic in fresh new ways."

We put my mom on our plan a couple years ago. She doesn't use her upgrade. So I either use my contract eligible phone or if I'm not eligible I use hers. This is the plan anyway. From what I understand this is allowed and a bit of a "secret" that most people don't know. Insider info for you bro. lol.Originally posted by Scrumhalf View PostHow do you get a new phone every year? Do you have a 1yr contract?
If I cant do this I'm just gonna get it from google.

Not worth the $350 direct from google. Especially considering I like to get a new phone every year or so.
Are cells service providers going to stock and subsidize the 5? They didn't carry the 4, and that is part of what Google is after. It is direct to consumers, vanilla android. The stupid carriers don't get to put their grubby paws on it and load it down with logos and bloatware.
You might need to pick a new phone if you are determined to go through a service provider.

Vanilla android is great. I hate touch wiz, sense, whatever Sony and LG call their additions. Nexus devices are great. I had to root and flash my galaxy to get vanilla android and I love it. The galaxy is sitting in a drawer, currently using a BB Z10 which I am really liking. BB10 is a wonderful gesture based OS.

Nah. Why would they change their entire distribution this year?Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View PostPretty sure att will get the 5.
You can buy it from the play store and use it on AT&T. Much easier to sell directly to consumers.
Update... I was wrong. T-Mobile actually offered the 4 last year after a couple of months strictly on the play store. Sunday be AT&T will get it.

Just pop in your Sim card.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postwell apparently i dont know shit. lol. so i guess i gotta buy it direct from google. how do i make it work with att?
AT&T might get it, I was surprised that T-Mobile had the 4.
They will sell out fast. I tried to get one on release day last year and the website was a mess. I finally got a pre-order in after it was out for a month and we had to wait almost 5 weeks until it was shipped.
