Ok, few things I don't like or wasn't expecting I guess you could say.
#1 The phone is jet black and the bezel is so thin you can't tell where the screen ends and the bezel begins. This is a good thing when the phone is on and you are using it, (its pretty much all screen). BUT, because of the simple/clean styling with no markings at the front.. when the phone is turned off you cant tell which way is up. The ear piece and front camera are almost impossible to see in most lighting situations because they are also jet black. There is just nothing at the front that gives you a visual clue of what is top or bottom. I have picked it up a few times thinking I was holding it right side up only to realize i was holding it upside down. LOL.
#2 Because of the materials used to make the phone, the jet black color and the new "shatter/scratch proof" gorilla glass 3 that is very glossy... the phone is a finger print magnet. In certain light all you can see is finger prints and smudges all over it.
#3 It does not compare to my old HTC One X in 1 particular way. Listening to music! HTC has a deal with beats audio so their phones have the beats software that makes music louder and more powerful sounding. This was perfect for the way I listen to music, just blasting and getting pumped up. The nexus plays music a bit more "cleaner" and crisp sounding but it lacks that "powerful" sound and the volume doesn't go high enough for my taste.
#4 The power button is on the right side of the phone. This isnt really a "bad" thing but I am sooo used to the power button being on the top of the phone. Same issue with the volume buttons. They are on the left hand side on the nexus and I am sooo used to them being on the right. Going to take some getting used to.
Those are my only complaints so far. I will list more as I come across them.
P.S. I will be using the phone pretty heavily today. (music, youtube, texting, email, browsing, etc..) I will report back on how the battery held up tonight.

You can fix the audio eq stuff when/if you ever want to root it. I am running a new rom on my s3 and it has a ton of options regarding sound/eq, everything sounded so much better in the gym yesterday.
I agree with the finger prints, my wife's 4 is the exact same in that regard.

There are no set control buttons at the bottom. Like the home page button, back button, and tabs button. They are transparent and move when you turn the screen on it's side. They also disappear completely when it senses that you are reading a news article, magazine, book etc.. It can be brought back with a simple swipe at anytime though. It's something that doesnt seem like a big deal but it gives you even more screen real estate.

What are you looking for? Main difference between the major smartphones is the OS.Originally posted by Ronin View PostNot impressed. Other than the obvious of specs...post something you love about the phone. I get it...best phone on the market. But those screen shots look like crap.
The nexus is for people who don't want a contract, and want a pure android experience.
What do you want screen shots to look like? Holographic? 3d? Just confused at what you are expecting from a cell phone.

I see. Well then tech wise, I'd say the new LG that can actually flex is pretty badass.
The gear is a neat gadget for sure, but recharging a watch nightly just bothers me. You pairing with a note 3?
Sorry for screwing the quote up.

Ok guys, I started using the phone yesterday at 7:30am on a full charge. It was down to 5% battery by 9pm. I think that is pretty respectable considering I used it about as much as anyone can use a phone in day.. Youtube, google play music, texting, email, google maps, internet etc..
I know most of you don't care about all the stuff I'm posting about the phone. I'm just updating this for those few that are thinking about getting it. Just trying to show and give that real user experience that you might not see in reviews from the big sites.
Important to note, I dont keep my screen very bright. About 25% on the brightness bar thing. Certainly bright enough to see in normal everyday use. Would probably have to brighten and thus use more battery if i'm outside on a bright sunny day.

Cool little details with this phone that make it really cool.
lets say you order a pizza from some place. Google, using it's massive database automatically gives you the name of the business instead of just some random number. What makes this kinda cool you ask? lol. Well lets say the pizza delivery place calls to tell you they are running late or the driver is lost etc.. Instead of some random number showing up in your caller ID, google knows it's the pizza place and will give you the name of the pizza place in your caller id even if you dont have them added in your address book.
it's one of those things you dont think you need until you have it and could never go back. acura called me this morning because I am due for an oil change. i immediately knew who was calling instead of waiting for them to leave a message.
this feature is applied to all businesses.
