Hi, I am COLOSSUS wife and am new to this forum and am looking for some input on getting started again. I want to try to get really lean/toned by March. Any suggestions?

I'm currently 5'1" 108 lbs. So I don't necessarily want to lose weight, just slim down and tone up. I haven't been back to the gym in almost a year so I am trying to find a good routine that will ease me back in but help me reach my goals by March. Feel free to ask me questions too as i'm not really sure what to put on here:weights:

    Thank youu!!

basically you want to tone up. for you the question is not about diet or cardio, 108 lbs is tiny. The answer is get back in the gym. No need to lift heavy, just train for the burn and pump.

What type of schedule works best for you? Would you be able to get in the gym 5 days per week or would a 2-3 day per week thing be better? Could always do something like upperbody on a Mon and lower body on a Fri etc..

    welcome to the forum btw.

      Thank you! :)

and I can easily go 5 days a week with my schedule i'm just lazy which is another thing... I need to stop being so lazy.

I need a good routine that I can stick to because if I don't have structure then I wont go. I don't know how many days a week to work my arms and back vs. my legs and butt ect and for how long... I feel like a baby learning to walk

i would train your weak area's twice per week and everything else once per week, starting out at least.

and yes, the lazy thing has to go. consistency is the most important factor by far. looking your best is nothing to be lazy about!

to start out I would do an all machine type workout. just so you can build up a base and get used to it again. keep it simple, on arm day 2-3 machines for biceps and 2-3 machines for triceps. 3-4 sets on each and do each set slow and controlled. do each set until your muscles are burning.

keep it simple for sure. if you make things complicated at first it becomes a negative and you are less likely to look forward to your workouts or be consistent with them.

          okay thank you,

would you recommend me taking any type of pre-workout that's very mild (i don't drink caffeine at all) to get me up and going for the gym so i'm not so tired?

I used to take Clen about two years ago when i wanted to lose weight and it gave me great results but when i tried to take it again it gave me terrible headaches so i stopped...

If you have any supplement recommendations i would really appreciate them as i don't eat meat either so i feel like i lose a lot of energy that way as well :)

hmm, no caffeine pretty much eliminates any pre-workout supp that is worth anything.

the only thing I can think of for you is maybe some whey protein since you probably dont get enough protein throughout the day.

              Okay thank you!

Another question sorry lol should I spread out rest days or just do 5 days in a row of gym and then 2 days off? Does it make a difference?

that question will probably answer itself once you start. i would bet you will probably want to take a day off after leg day. when you haven't trained legs in a long time they turn to spaghetti the next day. You get to look forward to basically falling onto the toilet every time you have to pee.. yay! :P Hope you don't have stairs in your house. Colossus is far to little to carry you, I'd help but that would be inappropriate. :thankyou:

Haha okay thank you! Yeah i guess time will tell and I will figure it out. And yeah i went to the gym like two weeks ago and did legs and haven't gone back since... So i will definitely take a day off after that!!!

By not drinking any caffeine, you are actually the perfect person to take a pre workout supplement.

Take a 200mg caffeine pill before your workout. You don't need to drink coffee. It will be really effective because your body will react much better. For someone like me who drinks 4 or 5 cups of coffee a day, pre workout caffeine is a lot less effective.
