Made some hardware purchases that have worked very well for me in the last few weeks:
First, a new stainless steel french press, so that my clumsy ass won't knock it over and break it!

Then, I decided to step up and get a real burr grinder. For those who don't know what this is, your standard coffee grinder has a couple of blades that spn around, kinda like a blender. Problem with that is that you can't control the coarseness of the grounds easily. A burr grinder works differently. It has two stone components that crush the beans. By adjusting the distance between the stone components, you can adjust the coarseness of the grounds. That way, you get a uniform perfect powder, just right for the french press.
I debated whether to get an electric or a manual grnder, and then decided to go old school and get a manual. And it is great. i wake up every morning, grind up 2 cups worth of beans while the water is heating up, and it is perfect!

Finally of course, all that hardware is great but you've got to have good coffee. I have been buying decent beans for a long time but locally. I decided to step up and get some really high quality stuff mail-order
I wanted to get fair-trade, shade grown beans. After doing a bit of searching, I settled on this company - Grounds for Change.
Fair Trade Coffee, Organic Coffee: Grounds for Change
It sells fair trade, shade grown, carbon neutral coffee.
I typically drink medium roasts but wanted to try a light roast single source coffee to really enjoy more of the native flavors of the bean and less of the roasting process.
I picked this Guatemalan single source light roasted bean:
Guatemala "Quetzal": Fair Trade Coffee
Man, it is phenomenal! Some of the best coffee I have had in a long long time. Lots of delicate flavors that come out when you don't burn the crap out of the bean!

Bought a toddy cold brew system and 16 ounces from the website your posted.

You can pick when adding it to your cart. I got 2 8oz bags to try out. I'll buy more in bulk if I love one of them. I'm ready for this cold brew world.
