Why do you choose to lease over loan?

Simple...much much lower payments for the car you wanna drive. Only suckers finance a car.

Here is an example, Bouncer says this Lexus is $ 45k, plus finance charge, ax and license it'll come up to at least $ 50k or bit more.

Say it is $ 50k divide that with 60 mos financing your monthly payments are gonna be around $ 840 a month. Now if you lease the same car you'd only pay around $ 450 a month. So why the hell would you wanna pay extra 400 buck a month on a car payment?

Let me guess...you gonna say but, but at the end of five years you gonna have all paid off car that is worth some equity if you wanna trade it in and get a new one.

Well, if you keep that car six years and decided to trade in at the end of six years what do you think it's going to worth? $15 may be $20k at most. Well guess how much you saved at the end of your three year lease by only paying half of the actual payments? Almost $15k Plus you don't have to worry about getting stuck with repair bills once the warranty runs out.

Yup. I either put no down or around $1k for the drive off, which is just the first month's payment, tax and license fees. And do 12k miles a year leases.

yea iv'e always done 12k per year leases. i generally average about 10k per year. if you are someone that drives crazy miles per year then maybe a lease wont work for you.

Good pros/cons on the above link. I commute too far for a lease to currently make sense.

Paying a car off up front is always the better deal though, but most people won't drive the 1992 Honda for a few years while they save for their "dream" car. People are hung up on looking cool in a car.

At the moment both of my cars are around 10k miles under my 12k a year allowance. And I know they won't be no where near 36k when I turn them in.

Also here is another trick...if you are getting close to your mileage limit go ahead and trade in early. I usually walk in to a dealership three months before the lease runs out and and negotiate. I tell them if they pay my last a few payments I'd get a car from them and they always say OK, They don't want customer to walk away for about a thousand bucks worth of last couple of payments.

P.S. You do NOT have to go to the same brand dealership. You can walk in to any dealership you want and they will take your car in as a trade in. And another benefit of that is you don't have to worry about getting charge with end of lease wear and tear on the car.

I miss my Z everyday, but it made sense to sell it since I commute 120+ miles each day. The Z got 18MPG and maintenance was high, the mazda I am in now gets 36MPG but looks nothing like the z.

I did use to chase the "cool" car scene, but now I realize I just buy what I can afford and what will get me good MPG. I'll splurge on a car when my income increases and I save the money to buy it outright. I will also buy used, buying new is for suckers.

ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...I feel like I am in a family car each day, but it is saving money on gas, and tires, and wear and tear, etc.

Leasing seems to fit your needs perfectly, I would never listen to anyone that automatically discredits leasing (Dave Ramsey), because I think it depends on the situation.

Just get the 2014 Corvette and call it a day.
