Insulin Ignorance

Someone I know died yesterday from his ignorance and use of insulin. Why oh why people are so willing to risk their lives for that shit, I will never understand. I think it was completely selfish of him to do and now his young son has to grow up without a father.


I know not too many around here do it, but hopefully he will at least have set an "example" for others that knew him.

What exactly does it do for BB's? Help them bulk or what? My wife has diabetes, for past 20 years. Not type 2 fatso diabetes, type 1 the worst one...she has an external insulin pump that sticks to her leg and monitors shit then gives her Humalog insulin when she needs it. I know how dangerous this shit can be, cause when her sugar levels drop below 40 she acts like she's drunk on acid.lol But seriously, it's scared me before. She had to have paramedics come to her work one time cause she went into shock. Doesn't sound like something to fuck around with to me....

Yes. Insulin is a protein made by the pancreas, that's also anabolic. Insulin enters the blood stream and travels to various tissues (muscle included). The muscle fibers are lined with insulin receptors. Once the insulin molecule docks onto the receptor, it signals the muscle cell to open up gates. This allows sugar/amino acids to enter the cells. Also supposedly increases protein synthesis and helps with muscle breakdown, etc.

However, it works the same way with FAT cells!

Since you're very familiar with how important it is to monitor insulin on someone that NEEDS it, you can see how dangerous it is for someone that is clueless. You can slip into a coma in no time, and that's it - no reversing what's done.....


I wish I knew more details of the person I knew, but I think it happened fairly late at night. Maybe he fell asleep, maybe he was alone and not monitoring, didn't eat, etc. Whatever the case, it's pure ignorance.
