Originally it was great. It's still so so so much better than before I did it. I was blind as a bat. But I can tell over a long period of time I may have to have it again. It kind of starts to lessen from from 20/10 to 20/20 etc... I still see 10x's better than before I had it done though. And my night vision since I had it is kind of shitty. If I'm driving in a dark area the on coming lights look SO BRIGHT.


Overall for the price and ease of the procedure I would definitely recommend it.

I also had it done in 2008. I had really shitty eyes before(don't remember my prescription but wasn't good). I had to get it re done last winter under warranty because it got worse and now i'm 20/20 again. They told me i'd probably have to redo it again in 10 years, but i still don't regret it. If your eyes aren't that bad, you'll have a better experience than i've had, so it's up to you how much you don't like wearing contacts/glasses.

I should probably add that i know a LOT of people who's had it done and i've definitely had the worst experience i've heard of. i'd still recommend it.

I can't see for shit driving at night. That's the only time I feel like I NEED my bifocals.

Not sure I could deal with lasers in my eyes though. I can't even put eye drops in without blinking 100 times. :(

Well of course my eyes are bad, or I wouldn't be doing it. :laugh: I don't know what to compare to, though, if you don't remember your prescription. I've been wearing contacts for over 20 years, so I've definitely put in my time. I just think it would be nice to wake up and be able to see. :grin:


Casby, LMG -- do you guys feel like your eyes are more dry since the surgery? The surgeon told me I already have dry eyes and should start using drops to get used to them. I had no clue, they never feel bad.

The night vision part does concern me a little. I feel like my depth perception is off at night, and I'd hate that to get worse. :x


I can't stand drops either, but after dealing with contacts forever, I think I'll manage.

my eyes are dryer than they were before the surgery for sure. They got even dryer after the second surgery. it's been a year since my second surgery, and i'm still using drops every day, but it's mostly because of the habit of using them.

i checked my prescription before surgery and it was +3.75 if that means anything to you

He said I need to be using the drops now to get in the habit of using them. And also taking fish oil - second Dr to tell me to take this, so I really should, lol.

Any family history of eye problems? If so, I would recommend an oral eye supplement with the AREDS 2 formulation, costly at $15-20 per month.
