Great inexpensive device ($35) that you plug into your HDMI input on your tv that allows you to stream youtube, netflix, hulu, music, videos, etc, from your laptop, tablet, phone, etc. Works pretty damn good.

Yes, if the content is 1080p it streams 1080p. I was skeptical but it took all of 10 minutes to set up and streams flawlessy thus far. I haven't had it long so I have not tested any full length movies, but the content I've streamed to this point has been crystal clear and no noticeable loss of audio.

My wife pulled up her True Blood via HBO Go on her phone, put the phone on the counter and proceeded to stream lame acting for a few hours last night without a flicker of video or audio loss.

I'm so used to things not holding up to their marketed standard that I'm blown away by the performance of such an inexpensive device.

I've always been able to stream from my computer to my home theater system but the problem has always been the 1080P torrents i download with DTS or dolby audio is simply to much data to stream without it flickering and breaking up etc..

What hardware do you use for streaming?

PS3, core i5 with 6 gigs of ram, belkin 50mbps router.

still always have hiccups because some of the scenes of an action movie can peak at even higher then 50 mbps.

50 meg router? You didn't trade that in with your Commodore computer?

I have a smart tv anyway so its inbuilt. For movies I just download torrent pirate stuff onto memory stick and plug it straight into the side of my tv via usb port

Mine is as well. This device is specifically for streaming functions. Why go through the hassle of selecting a movie stored on another hard drive, transfer it to a thumb drive, and plug it into a tv when you can simply change the input on your tv and stream from that device. This goes for music as well as other live streaming content.

Granted this device is a cheaper and less functional option compared to Apple tv or Roku.

I don't believe you actually do this. What torrent site do you use? What type of file is the torrent? What type of player does your TV have that it can play the torrents. As stupid as your are with tech your trying to make us believe you have all that covered. Stop fibbing.
