  • Shark culling begins in Western Australia, angering conservationists

What the hell is wrong with this country? :retard:

Western Australia kills its first shark as part of cull - CNN.com

The government's program of using hooked lines attached to floating drums to cull sharks in its waters follows a spate of fatal shark attacks in the waters off Australia's largest state.

Seven people have been killed in shark attacks in WA over the past three years, the government said.

The scheme has been denounced by conservationists who say the sea predators should remain protected species.

This is gonna sound out of whack but I have no issue with shark culling. I don't believe they eat people by accident. And sorry but we are the Apex species and the sea is ours too.
I don't think the eco system will suffer to bad if sharks are culled.

Sharks are killed here all the time. There are days we fish and all we catch are sharks. It is so annoying and there are SO many. I personally don't like/won't kill them, but it does seem they are taking over.

I think it is quite different with apex predators like tiger sharks and great whites. They reproduce incredibly slowly to where killing a bunch of adults can have very significant consequences to the population overall.

Why does the ecological system need great whites or tiger sharks anymore than it needs dinosours?

I appreciate thats not an entirely moral point but...

Because they control the population of a whole bunch of other species that if unchecked can upset the ecological balance. This has been studied widely.

Really, grear whites and tigers? Can't hammers and orcas take care of it then crustaceans when the waste hits the bottom?
Oh well I'll take ur word better keep em around then

Tell ya one thing, I have no time for all this "if they kill a human its because itwas accident"

I went tk some study park in australia way back and they debunked that. Sharks know exactly what theyre doing when they bite human flesh

              And who could blame them
