  • Power Outages

There's 850,000 homes/businesses without power in PA. We lost ours yesterday around 9am and are being told it should be restored by Sunday. Almost 5 days without power. Luckily last year I purchased a generator and had it wired to our house with a transfer switch. So we have heat, water, and electric to 1/2 of our home. Feel bad for those who don't have heat right now. Last night it was 15 degrees.

Anyone else on the east coast that lost power?

A friend lives in York and works for the power company. He has been working around the clock trying to get power restored. Apparently the mass outage is from the snow and ice snapping trees that fall onto the power lines causing fires and transformer explosions.

Yep, that's right by me. It's hard to drive anywhere if you live off the back roads. A lot of the roads are closed due to trees in the power lines. It's crazy. I have never seen anything like it before.

We are very fortunate. I was able to take a hot shower this morning and have a cup of coffee before heading to work. Our home is a toasty 73 degrees.

man that sucks..lots of people will be hurting. I have a generator as well. Not wired into house but I can keep fridge freezers hot water heater TV and some fans running to get by in case of no power. Pool in back yard can be used for water for toilets etc. gas n wood grill n smoker for cooking... yep gotta be prepared.
