  • Eataly Chicago - A must do.

Place is amazing. Basically a building the size of a mall dedicated to all things authentic Italian. Meats, cheeses, veggies, pasta, fruits, chocolates, wine etc.. The vibe of the place is just amazing. If your in town this place cannot be skipped.

Looks cool! So it's basically a store as well as restaurant in one? Is it in the city?

Man, I've got to get to Chicago one of these days. I miss the city after living for so many years there.

In spring and summer Chicago has the best "feel good" vibe of any city I've been to. I love it here. If I was rich I'd have a second place in Cali or South Florida to escape the winter.

Actually just got a condo downtown with a view of the lake. Top floor brand new building. I'll post more about that in a different thread with pics.

P.S. Eataly has a gelato bar, nutella bar, and a coffee bar with more variations of coffee then I knew existed. Place is amazing. I think there is 1 in Dubai and NYC as well.

Cool! I told you when you were first moving to Chicago to get a place in the city by the lake.

When I was in grad school at Illinois in the late eighties, the father of one of my friends in the Physics department had a house just off Lakeshore Drive. Fantastic place... Guy was a doctor and his house was furnished in an insanely cool way.. minimalist before minimalism became fashionable. We used to stop by his place whenever we drove up to Chicago to catch a Bears game or whatever... Still remember it well.

Any place by the lake in Chicago is going to be just off Lakeshore Drive. Come on scrum, get it together bro. :P

Yea price wise Chicago is amazing compared to NYC. We are a 5 minute walk from the beach and about 10 minutes from Wrigley Field.
