Isn't that quite cheap? I know nothing about the market over there but 1.5 doesn't get you much here

I just read the average house price in New Jersey is 269,000???
Is this accurate. You can't buy a 1 bedroom unit here for that!

Doesn't seem accurate for NJ but there some really beautiful places here in Florida or most other places in the US where 200+ can buy you a big beautiful home.

                          Yep

Well you can get that in a nice 20-30 year old home no problem. Or if you have some land u can get that built on it for 260k no doubt. If you wanna live out in the sticks, you can easily find a big chunk of land for 50k...like a few acres or possibly more. Or if youre a development community type of person you can get a brand new one for that price minus the large lot and finished basement...i used to meet with builders and go over blueprints, lay houses out for the hvac then fabricate and install all the ductwork, furnaces, etc... I did houses ranging from 125k to multimillion dollar mansions with 5 furnaces in them...i always asked what the houses were selling for and the avg one i described above was around 250k give or take...

The median house price where I live is $658k and my area isn't an expensive area by comparison. 260k for a house is unbelievable.
