May look "cool" but all its doing is reducing their vision and movement thus impeading their ability to fight. Pretty stupid actually.
I remember training with the dutch back in the early 80's in europe/ Bunch of long haired, out of shape hash smokers...they were a fucking joke.:agreed:

Some of you military know-it-alls might want to make sure you have the facts before speaking. One would think that would be a trait they would have taught you in the military... ;)
The material in the netting around the head and face helps with concussive blasts underwater during training exercises...
Ripper, you make a turkey hunt sound like fucken world war 3... I'm not sure how much military creditability you deserve. :D

Welllll, that would be awesome, if it were true. The concussive force or shockwave of an explosive blast won't be minimized by netting..and its increased exponentially underwater so even less so then. You're looking at Danish Frogmen and it appears that they are geared for ship boarding or CQB not underwater operations. In their current configuration they would sink like a brick on a waterborne insertion..which is the reason they are all wearing life jackets. The netting prevents water dripping from equipment, creation of glare or reflection, and breaks up the silhouette-primarily during night operations.
I can't speak to the tactical capabilities of the turkey prior to it's demise.
