Canada has pretty much the same gun laws as the US and they dont have the same problem. there is something deeper then just gun laws. This is also a cultural problem and it's ignorant to dismiss it. there is a certain attitude in america. the whole "cowboy" thing still exists.

It isn't gun control or southerners or whatever other insult you want to throw around. It's a mental health issue. Our mental health resources are extremely lacking. It's bad. I don't know what the answers are, but we just do not offer the help that people desperately need. Take a look at how few state hospitals there are today. Guess where all those people are instead - out on the streets with you and me. How many times do we hear AFTER the fact about how "disturbing" that kid was or how they had "said", "written" or "videotaped" strange things/behaviors? Why didn't anyone do anything then?

Yes he is serious. I'm also interested in why. I know you believe that banning all guns will eliminate these issues but it is deeper than that. Look at Switzerland. Almost every citizen is a gun owner. There is a shooting range in every community and ranks 3rd in the number of guns per capita. You don't hear about this happening there. Why?Originally posted by redback View PostYou're not sure why? Really bro

Yep, Chadd hit the nail on the head. The US definitely is up there in terma of gun ownership in the western world but it is by no means alone. Switzerland and Finland also have a very high level of gun ownership but apart from some isolated incidents you never hear of gun misuse in this manner. I don't know if it is the fact that the country was created by the gun, from the revolution to the settling of the West, or whatever. But it is clear that lots of my countrymen view the gun as a tool to solve problems and this seems to be a unique pathology here.

Think what you want. I thought it was pretty clear that it was a gun law issue. I think the only people who are oblivious to the fact and still not willing to change it after all this are Americans. We had the same issues in our country before we changed the law. Not on the grand scale you have but there was definitely a problem. The guns laws here had a major impact when they came into place. You guys have a problem there that needs to be fixed but no one is willing to do what it takes. Just my 2 cents.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Poststop acting like a smart ass know it all with your little shitty responses. your talking to scrum here, not some southern gun toting retard.
