Well done USA. They fought a mostly rearguard action and won. One thing about US teams is they never give up. Thought Jermain Jones was best US player -- gave his all for 95 minutes. And I think his reaction to Muntari's foul and then retaliation saved Muntari from maybe being sent off. Instead of rolling around like a baby Jones sort of clasped Muntari and said let's shake hands. Muntari was wise enough to do it and the ref gave him a talking to and let it go. Michael Bradley was a bit of a disappointment as he didn't live up to the playmaker role this time out but he worked hard. One has to maybe question the US warming up and conditioning process with three muscle injuries occurring in a warm humid climate, where such injuries are more rare. The US have given themselves a great chance of going through as they play a maybe crestfallen Portugal next.

It was a great ending but US played horrible. They couldn't connect more than 4 passes before giving up the ball. They have to step their game up if they want to compete in the bracket they're in.

This has been the most exciting world cup i've seen. With the lame end to football season and the spurs spanking the heat. I am glad that Hockey and Soccer have brought together so many people that would never have sat down to watch before. Epic matches have passed and many more to come.

Mexico faces Netherlands tomorrow and as much as I'd like to see Mexico beat them and advance. Netherlands has a strong Squad and Mexico is definitely going to have to bring it if they expect to win.

Fuck the 4 or 6 month ban or whatever they gave him. He needs a permanent expulsion from any professional soccer leagues indefinitely. 3rd time + racial slurs?
