  • Used a chain saw today

    First time I used one.
Awsome piece of kit but scary also

Can't wait to give it back in a way but it sure makes for quick work

Good, fun, powerful feeling running a chainsaw. The sound and smell of the cut wood and the 2 cycle takes me back to childhood. My uncle was lumberjack and took me to the woods all the time.

Saw a guy cut his face in half when the saw hit a hard knot in the tree and kicked back into his face. Split from his eye down through his chin. Still alive.

        They are unforgiving!

Ran chainsaws since I was a kid..pay attention to angle of cut so you dont get bar pinched . just be aware of it kicking or poping up or sideways..youll be fine.

Think I was 10. It was pretty horrific. Can't say it affected me negatively. I learned why my uncle was so strict about proper handling. That guy was a 30 year mill worker and fucked up. Only takes a fraction of a second with those fuckers.

We have a fairly large home and heat all winter long with wood. I run my chainsaw all year long. I enjoy being outside and working except when it's 100 degrees out.

I believe most chainsaws now days have a safety feature where the chain stops spinning if it kicks hard and your hand hits the kick back brake. Mine does and it's 6 years old.

Wood is hard work. From the time you cut the tree down, section it up, split it, and stack it... Ton of work. Most of the trees I had to take down I climbed first to tie a rope to sice they were close to my house. That part is fun!!

The fun part is sitting around the fire burning the wood you cut, drinking some beers...thats the best part
