  • Tablet dilemma

I'm looking at getting a tablet for my son's 9th birthday.

I like the ipad air 10' 16G, but you can't expand with sd cars and a larger hard drive is just to expensive of a tablet for he him.

Galaxy 4 10' is cheaper and you can add sd cards, but it will be easier for him to screw up settings.

Outside of that there are just so many options it's overwhelming. Once a month he will be able to take it to school for electronics day. I think the ipad would be the best fit for what he would do and the user friendliness.

apple makes the best tablets hands down. when it comes to phones I think android is the better choice but not tablets.

if you dont get an apple tablet the second best option is the Asus Nexus 7. It's $100 cheaper than the apple is a very good tab.

Is 16G plenty for a tablet or will that get used up quickly?

depends on usage but there are cleaner apps (clean master) is good that deletes useless hidden junk. i run it on my phone about once every few months and it frees up almost 3 gigs every time. should be fine for a 9 year old.

Thanks for the input so far.

I was doing some more research and I've noticed a lot of god reviews in the fire hdx for kids to use. I also read Amazon has created some custom apps for parental control.

Anyone have experience with kindle fire?

              bro bro bro... lol.

Amazon fire phone or tab is unproven junk. you'd be crazy to spend your money on what is essentially a portable amazon store.

id buy a windows tab before I bought a fire and that's saying something.
