    With all the talk about cancer lately, I felt this song was worth a post. Alzheimer's is the sixth leading cause of death in the US. I see a LOT of dementia patients, and it's very sad.


    Glen Campbell is in the sixth stage of Alzheimer's.

      I don't look at it as us "losing the battle" as the article states in the beginning. 90% of what we've learned about Alzheimer's has been discovered int he last 15 years. The research IS being done, thankfully. While there is no cure, there are definitely therapies to slow or improve impairment along the way.

            That was a great song...pulls on some heartstrings for sure. I grew up with him in the south, Rhinestone Cowboy was my favorite song when I was a little kid. It's a horrible disease, but you do bring up a great point that research is really just in its infancy..there is hope in that, and gains being made.
