  • This is Tesla's D: an all-wheel-drive Model S with eyes on the road

"This car is nuts," Musk told an excited crowd filled with Tesla owners. "It's like taking off from a carrier deck. It's bananas. It's like having your own personal roller coaster that you can use at any time."

Seriously, this is one badass car! $120K, a bit too much for me, but damn....

      0-60 in 3.2... Nice

Its a beautiful car but I wish they made it a bit different from the base model. I see about 10 of them a day around here. Definitely very popular here.

And a 275 mile range! I think we are on the verge of a breakthrough here. 5 years, maybe 10 at most, and we will have consumer cars (sub $30K) with multi-hundred mile range. At that point, the days of oil will be numbered.

Gimme 300hp, 300 miles per charge, clean german looks, and $40k and I'll buy it today.

100% of the torque on these electric cars is immediately available as soon as you put your foot down. Definitely an advantage over gas engine. They rip off the line.

Audi's 1500 rpm is not far from immediate for all of your torque. Your engine idles @ 1000 rpm so addition of 500 rpm is pretty much instant.

Yea I get it but there is a split second pause. I want instant. Like the surge that you get when you use launch control on the Audi. I want that same surge by just pressing the gas... And I want the surge to continue to build at the same momentum all the way up to top speed. I want 0-120mph in 7 seconds. Guess I better get me a P1. :D

Just get something around 400hp and you'll feel exactly what you are talking about. :)

Next car will most likely be the S4. Think it will be 400hp by 2017 when lease is up?

A4/S4 is perfect size for me.
