So their saying the GoPro helmet accessories actually weaken the helmet and split it? Fuck that's pretty scary considering how many people are using the product today.

anything you stick or modify on a helmet weakens it and compromises its protection.

Ive been saying this since go pro came out with the helmet mounts mostly to the motorbike users but none seem to listen.

I think its more about landing on the camera and the camera acting like a pressure point and splitting the helmet.

Ah, gotcha. I read Henry's post as suggesting that the camera is somehow weakening the helmet.

Not sure I buy the hypothesis. The helmet is designed to withstand impact to a hard surface like a rock or a tree but crumples when there is a camera in the way? Not sure I buy it. Could it be that the camera came loose and obstructed his vision or something like that, causing him to crash?

I know it does for bike helmets I dont know about the one that bouncer posted.

Glue eats away at the outer shell of bike ones.
