I generally don't, which is sad or pathetic. I just thought this could be fun or something. It's over, and done, and now I have to finish shopping for the real people in my life! :snowman:

A girl in another group I belong to got her gift. She put in her profile that she likes The Walking Dead. Haha, I thought it was a cute, clever idea.

The worst part about this is that the person is from the US. So in other words, they took a souvenir bought for them off the shelf and shoved it in a box. I don't care that it isn't $20 worth, but more about the fact they put zero effort and thought into it.
At least it's better than a potato alarm clock! lol

I disagree! I would do a project with my son with the potato clock and have a good time. An Ireland shot glass, though? "Oh when did you visit Ireland?" Oh I didn't, a stranger off the internet sent me his leftover souvenirs. :disagree:

I do want to post it amongst all the good gifts people are posting and be like "yep, this is it...." - but I don't really want to be a huge asshole.

I don't understand why someone would go through the trouble of voluntarily engaging in a reddit secret Santa exchange only to send a shit gift. Trolling at its best.

I'd be all over exagerating the circumstance by making a reddit thread up with some bs sob story about how alcoholism killed an imaginary family member during Christmas and how upset this gift made you etc troll the troller.

But seriously, that is exactly why I'm bothered. Not because it's a $5 "gift" (that word is a stretch), but because it has zero thought. It's just so obvious they signed up in hopes of getting something valuable. I hope he gets a whoopie cushion from the Dollar Tree.

I literally came to SM this morning specifically to ask if you ever got your gift. A lot of people are still just now getting theirs. My sister was out of town, so opened hers last night. It was a t-shirt that says WOOSAH - so she wasn't thrilled, but it's still better than mine. My other friend never got his, either, but his person just received theirs a couple of days ago.

                              Did you contact Reddit?

I thought the idea is that the gifts are supposed to make people happy... looks like all we have are a bunch of pissed off people lol... so I'd say the whole thing was a big fail.
