  • Christmas Thread

Just came to the realization that Christmas is exactly 2 weeks from today. I'm kinda shocked because I really hadn't thought about it.

Considering my mom was born on Christmas day I better at least send her a gift or something! What the hell do you buy a 60 year old woman? I have no fucken clue. Any unique ideas I'm all ears.

I think I may put up a small tree this year for the first time. Last tree I had was living with my parents all those years ago. Try to get into the spirit a little more this year.

Any big or small plans for anyone?

I have been so damn busy and stressed that now that I have a break, I just don't even want to have to deal with Christmas. Luckily, I started shopping on Black Friday, so I have quite a bit done.

For my "60 year old woman," I bought a fleece North Face jacket. It is so soft, it feels like wearing a rabbit or something. I wanted to keep it myself, but Florida. :P I also plan to buy her gloves, slippers and a scarf. Yes, there's a theme, but she's moving to Tennessee soon.

    Does your mom wear jewelry?

Our tree and all Christmas decorations have been up a couple weeks prior to Thanksgiving. My wife goes a little crazy with decorations and lights but I have to say it looks awesome and the kids especially enjoy it. Only downside is our electric bill is nuts! lol

I do 90% of my shopping on amazon. I'll probably start next week. :)

See if FB will regift her shot glass to your mom.

I did already tell him I was sending it to him for Christmas. But that's an even better idea. "Mom, I'm trying to be more culturally creative. I thought this was beautiful and reminded me of you."

Has she ever talked about wanting to start a hobby or restart a hobby she loved? Get her some state stuf or kit.

My mom and I LOVE Brighton jewelry. I understand if you want something more personalized, but they have such pretty/girly stuff. It's excellent quality and they have wonderful customer service if anything ever goes wrong with it. We buy their sunglasses, watches and purses, too.

I think I'll make this on christmas day. Looks like the perfect Christmas lunch to me.

Grilled cheese on 12-grain wheat bread to dip in tomato basil soup, with a slice of muenster cheese melted over the top.
