"A book that takes place in Asia" -- Suicide Forest by Jeremy Bates

This book actually ended up being a lot more interesting than I expected. I didn't realize it was a real place, and now I've learned that the author has other books based on other scary places.

There should be a list of books for people that have a short attention span with books. Books that stick to the point and don't go off into side stories. Books that are clear and action packed and or highly interesting.

Scrum or FB. If you were each to recommend me 1 book that you feel would be most likely to get me into reading what would it be?

Nonfiction. You know me, come on. I'm Mr documentary. lol.

Military history from any century always peaks my interest btw.

                  Bouncer:

                  "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell.

It's an easy read - a bunch of chapters, each dealing with one topic. It will make you think.

I'll give it a try. Mentally I'll be more likely to read it in physical form over digital. I like the idea of hardcover books. Feel like a sophisticat. Build up a library and put them on display so people know I am a man of complexity.

MIlitary history is tough - because there tend to be a lot of details and most of them are fat 800 pagers.

But if you want to give it a go, try "The Guns of August" by Barbara Tuchman. It is about the events and situation in Europe that precipitated WW I. It is widely regarded as one of the best popular treatments of the subject.

Go to your local library and borrow it then. Free, and they'll have many copies of that book. It is a bestseller.

When it comes to military stuff I like details.

I was talking more along the lines of when a story has 50 sub plots and its just like enough is a enough for shit sake.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Most of those books are very long. I LOVE reading, but a gigantic book always makes me rethink my pick, haha. It has to really be something that is going to interest me if it is going to last that long.

Bouncer, are you sure you don't want to start with a different topic, lol

I've watched 14 hour documentaries on the civil war, ww1, ww2 etc.. I'd say it's a subject I'm interested in.
