I couldn't help feeling "sorry" for it, as its reaction is so like a real dog. It's kinda like seeing Batty die in Bladerunner - we know he is an android but still..

Speaking of which, my son's reading I, Robot right now and many of the stories there also touch upon this kind of thing, how humans deal with robots with human-like tendencies.
