You do realize that sub's have volume and crossover settings right? Its called calibration. If your sub is "drowning" out anything you simply have it calibrated incorrectly.Originally posted by BEAST View Post
Let me just say I don't care what you have for mid to high end speakers, your booming subwoofer is going to drown every single detail you think you are going to hear when you shell out all that cash so save your money and go buy some cheap speakers and enjoy music.

Don't have to but he would gladly stop by and educate you guys so you can stop drinking the name brand coolaid. Lol.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostBeast I beg you. Show this thread to your friend. Please. You don't have to come back here and admit you were wrong or anything. Just please show this to him. Show him specifically what you said in post #10. Thanks
I posted this back in 2008 and nothing much changed since then. When I posted this we had just finished installing a home theather for a famous celebrity and we didn't install some expensive shit for the mid and highs. Subs tho cost tons.

You may run cables through walls, hang TV's, speakers and plug wires into equipment but you have a very poor understanding of audio. Ask your client to talk to Siri so nothing is lost in translation. Lol
Yes, quality subs are incredibly costly. You do understand that much.

Please do. Have him post here. I specifically want him to address this comment of yours... "Rule of thumb is for the highs and the mid range speakers don't mean shit. Get the cheapest ones with the decent sound but don't cheap out on the sub."
Nobody doubts your friends knowledge. What we doubt is your ability to interpret his knowledge.
Your quote above is so fundamentally incorrect it's comical.

I'm gonna see him Tuesday. I'll have him post something. :grin:Originally posted by Bouncer View PostWill you have your friend respond here?
But let me also tell you that your million dollar speakers will never produce the sound you hope you are going the hear because of the way the music is produced these days.

For 90% of the music you are absolutely right. Unless it's a well produced soundtrack, classical production, or orchestra, etc. Most music is produced to be played on 4 crappy speakers.Originally posted by BEAST View PostI'm gonna see him Tuesday. I'll have him post something.

Beast just for shits and giggles. Send your buddy a quick email...
"Hey pal, it's your boy beast. Listen, I've been telling people that the rule of thumb is for the highs and the mid range speakers don't mean shit and the sub is all that's really important and I've been telling them I got my info from you!"
Post his response please. :cheese:
