Scary because he has a Napoleon complex and I fear is not afraid to play a game of chicken with nuclear weapons.

He increasingly has nothing to lose so that makes it doubly more scary.

It's a war of financial attrition now.

Russia has had oil leverage for so long but that's all changed now. Basically Russia needs oil to be at $100 per barrel to break even but it's at $60.

The west knows exactly what it's doing and has been waiting for this opportunity for a long while.

The rallying of arms reminds me of the days gone by when Russia would be so poor because of all the money it spent on military that it's people were starving. In the end the machine broke down.

But with putin if he can see this he will try and cause shit to put the west on edge and to give himself leverage, like they did with castros cuba.

Bit like the stunts you pull on here; editing, deleting, ban threats just to give yourself a chance against the great one.

Because if it's evens 1:1 you're fucked and you know it.

Now call me the fucken spider:rofl:

It should be pretty clear to you that I have an understanding of what you're insinuating by that one simple statement.

To be clear though, I don't entirely agree with you. I think it's convenient for the US and the West that ISIS is doing what it's doing but I don't think we are by any means friends with them either.

OK bro, actually, to be clear, if you are alluding to the theory that ISIS is created and funded by the west, I don't buy into that literally.

What I do think is that the west has deposed so many leaders by shadowy means throughout history but where we have done that in the middle east in the last 20 years, it's backfired on us and ISIS is one such filth monitor who's origins can probably be traced indirectly to western involvement but is now a warped backlash.

On terms of oil yes they now have control of some old fields and some of it gets smuggled to Turkey and Iran by third party fences, but that's over hyped and the real monitor in all of this is Saudi Arabia.

They are the financiers of ISIS, the west knows it but continues to play friendly with SA.

Back to Russia, they are in shit street and so they are trying to let us know that they could cause problems.

That means we are beginning to hurt them and we should stay tough line but not militarily aggressive and watch them starve out.

Fuck it even let them take Ukraine but starve them financially where possible and then when it gets to the point that chechnya and Georgia could be a problem for them because they run low on hard currency. Then we make deals on our terms.

The only concern I have in all this is China but while they are similar to Russia in some ways Putin and Russia have moved on and would not want to be too close with china.

Agreed but I'm not sure starving Putin will work out like you think. I believe he will react like a pit bull backed into a corner. A nuclear pit bull.

That is a scary thought and why we should give him no reason to go there, the Americans, Brits and Germans are the powerhouses now, France less so. They are all aware of that and hence why they're cautious on Ukraine.

Personally I think Chechnya will be a patsy here, all it takes is a broke Russia, and an ISIS / Saudi funded muslim Chechnya yo kick off and hey presto you have a joint enemy, Russia comes in out of the cold and has a legit reason to target it's old foe chechnya, assisted by The West.
