In very simple terms it allows the internet to stay the way it has always been.
ISP's like Verizon or ATT wanted to divide the internet into fast lane and slow lane. The big companies who can pay like Netflix, amazon, Google etc would get full speed and all the smaller sites on the web like this shithole site would be left on route 66.
If such a plan were put in place nothing would be able to grow online. It would be a place where only those who pay can be seen. Imagine if that rule had been in place years ago when Google or amazon were just starting out. The ISP plan would have killed innovation on the internet and have been nothing more then a corporate controlled shit hole. It would literally have been the death of the internet. A place that doesn't give startups a voice.

This is perfect.
In response to some idiot saying this is government regulation of the internet.
"This is no more a plan to regulate the internet than the first amendment is a plan to regulate free speech. They both stand for the same concept: openness, expression, and an absence of gatekeepers telling people what they can do, where they can go and what they can think."

The alternative in this situation was far worse. I'm sorry but you clearly don't understand the issue.Originally posted by Turbo3000 View PostThe government is coming to save us. I'm so excited.
I can't wait for all the taxes and fees(more taxes) to be added to my monthly bill.
Government isn't the answer.
Sometimes government intervention is a good thing when it comes to corporate greed. You are so blinded by anything that involves the Gorverment that you automatically dismiss the cause regardless of intent.

Get ready for higher prices. Let's bump it in 3 years and see who knew what they were talking about.

Lets do that. Lets agree to the current average speed and price in America first though.
I would say the AVERAGE is 25mbps for $50-$60 per month for internet. Would you agree?
This of course all disregards that in 3 years the Internet would have been a very different place if net neutrality had not been won.
I personally see this as Civil war #2. We have the confederate who is so blinded by anything the Union does as bad that you can't see past your ass. Even though you know the fundamental rights in which you fight involve wickedness. Slaves in this case = a free internet.
Can't be a coincidence that you are from Atlanta.. the heart of the Confederacy.. You can call me Ulysses S Grant you dumb southern cunt!

You always seem pretty intelligent when talking about history. Too bad your Civil war knowledge is approaching zero.
Go read up on VOIP customers. Check out prices before it was classified a telecom by the Government and check out prices now.

I would all but guarantee I know more than you on the subject.Originally posted by Turbo3000 View PostYou always seem pretty intelligent when talking about history. Too bad your Civil war knowledge is approaching zero.

I already know where you're going with this. The typical southern retard argument that the Civil war was not about slavery. It's what you people tell yourself to feel better.
The fact is slavery was a fundamental reason for the civil war. Not the only reason but a fundamental one. Tensions built for years before the war over slavery. The southern states got defensive and afraid their way of life was going to be taken away from them. They didn't want FAIR taxes being imposed on them. They thought state laws trumped federal laws. They threw a hissy fit and succeeded from the union.
You southern turds had some great generals I must admit. You won a lot of the early battles because of it. But once you made your way north and stepped foot in Pennsylvania we stopped playing games an layed the smack down on ya. Never again would you dumb fucks come so far north. LOL @ the fact that you stupid fucks shot and killed your own general. One of the greatest ever. Good call. Dildos.
I will destroy you on the subject. Please please please try me.
I suggest you educate yourself just a little before you come at me. 9 hour documentary series done by PBS and Ken Burns available on netflix. I suggest you watch.
