Landed in San Jose last night, spent the night at the Holiday Inn next to the airport, and now waiting to board the little plane that will take us to the Osa Peninsula. Weather is fantastic, nice breeze and about 75F.
My younger son the birder is going nuts... He has seen and photographed 5 new species already, just on the drive to the airport lol...Comment

Haha... Just got back to San Jose and driving to Arenal Volcano NP. No WiFi in my resort.. Didn't miss it one bit.
Having an absolutely fantastic time so far! 4 more days to go!

So the first 5 days I spent were in the Osa Peninsula. Total immersion into the country - people don't come to the Osa casually as it is so far out of the way.
Nayara Springs in the Arenal area is totally different. Gringo central - it is a beautiful resort but I feel awkward here. Last night was a room full of North Americans with the locals busing tables. I like Osa better - much more pure and I feel like I am a guest of the locals, instead of them being my servants. Not sure if that makes sense to anybody or not.
