Weekend project

Got a solid oak table and 6 chairs for $250 this weekend we found on craigslist. It was nice set but beat down.. table and chairs looked like this..


Gave it a good sanding and painted it all up to have a kinda coastal beach feel to it...


Finished project..new dining room table...will take the big leaf out of it unless we have company over and need it. For the two of us its all we will need on most occassions. Think it fits well with the old country theme of the house....slowly getting it together...one thing at a time..

Lip, Is that chalk paint with wax finish? My wife just redid some furniture and it has that finished look.

It has that look to it but we just used flat paint and brushed it thin..then applied stain..added more paint..then two coats of thin polyurathane to protect it.. :thumb:

just woods...still have to clean up on that side of house...just about finished with front... sides and back next..itll be a few weeks untill its getting there..I have a ton of work to do on it..

i wish i was able to do shit like that. my old man is like you rip builds/restores all this awesome furniture with his own hands. always admired people like that.
