  • Greatest words of encouragment ever, everyone please read

After a while you learn the subtle difference, between holding a hand and chaining a soul, and you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning and company doesn’t mean security…And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts and presents aren’t promises… And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, with the grace of an adult, and not the grief of a child…You begin to see that the happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of whatever comes their way...

You learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for paths. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much. You honor every experience for all that it is worth, You appreciate your mistakes, for they have taught you what you know today, without them you would not be half the person you have become. After a while you realize in your heart that when you promise yourself that you will not go down the same roads you have already traveled, your past will stop chasing you. Finally, you learn that you really can endure…That you really are strong, and you really do have worth.

                    doom,

very nice quote, and what is funny is that that quote is essentially what i teach my clients, and the only way to make it stick is repetition, we all need someoen to remind of us of things like that, in this hurly burly world it is so easily forgotten

even I do better when i teach it more often

                    very good, thanks

Gosh, I replied to this thread back in August, but I don't even remember reading it. When I first pulled up the thread and read it I didn't notice the date it had been posted and when I read my own reply it almost freaked me out, because I have no memory of this thread. Too bizarre.

I'm glad this was bumped. I have a friend that I can use it right now, especially the 2nd paragraph. Sometimes we can get down on ourselves for making mistakes but learning from them and not repeating them definitely makes you stronger. Forgiving yourself is also important to a happy life.
