  • Texas police officer quitting over pool part incident

Can someone tell me what he did wrong?

  • #2
Many are saying he escalated the situation. I think he just quit until all the attention dies down and will find a new city to be an officer in.

      I see

It just seemed like much a do about nothing, he took someone down, others gathered so he threatened them off. Nobody got hurt but there were lots of cameras

Next thing hordes of demonstrators are out in force. But this is texas where you can shoot someone for stepping on your property. Just seems out of proportion

Well of course the media is going to focus on him pulling out his gun and pointing it at blacks because that makes for a better story.

Ultimately it's just more proof that the media causes the blacks to anti cop frenzy. .

He did nothing wring at all. Hurling a 14 yo girl to the ground, twisting her arms back and sitting on her is not brutal and heavyhanded at all.

Law enforcement is trained in levels of attack and proper restraint. He demonstrated none of that. He appeared to be an out of control cop with the inability to properly assess and handle the situation. He could not handle the stress of the situation. Imagine if he was in a truly life threatening situation how he may have (over)reacted.

Compared to some of the stuff that only made news after much social media and public outcry this seemed relatively tame for big news.

Setting aside your sensationalist headline above. I guess it depends in the circumstances.

                            Agreed
Dude was acting like it was a bank robbery. not a bunch of teens at a pool party. ask yourself if that was your teen daughter would you feel the same way?

                            Scrum
To me he clearly lost his cool overreacted . you have to stay composed. he drew his weaopon u see other two offices restrain him.

So some friends that live close to the area says there was a lot of fighting within the blacks and they were yelling and cussing at families at the pool. Not saying it justified the cops actions but also interesting that nothing is being said about that on the news.
