This might seem like a strange question but looks like a lot of sites are taking credit card payments now. What are the risks involved in this if any? Is it really any more risky than paying with bitcoin etc?

Wow. Never heard of such a thing. Get a prepaid card and load it with the exact amount then toss it after the order. No way in hell I'd use my real credit card.
